Understanding HAZWOPER

Understanding HAZWOPER is a 45 to 60 minute online course for workers new to hazardous materials environments under 29 CFR 1910.120. It covers hazardous substances, cleanup, emergency plans, medical surveillance, site characterization and PPE levels.

• Explains what can make a substance hazardous and how workers begin reducing exposure at job sites safely.
• Covers safe containment, cleanup after accidental releases and the importance of a written Emergency Plan.
• Reviews medical surveillance, site characterization and HAZWOPER personal protective equipment levels onsite.
