HAZWOPER Safety Orientation
The HAZWOPER Safety Orientation course is an interactive online training program designed to help facilities comply with OSHA’s HAZWOPER regulation (29 CFR 1910.120).
The course instructs employees about how to reduce or eliminate potential exposure to hazardous materials in their work environments. Areas covered include preparing for working with hazardous materials, avoiding bad mental habits and complacency, working at the right pace, controlling emotions, adjusting to the limitations of PPE, mental discipline, and acquiring the information needed to work safely.
Topics covered include why mental discipline is critical to handling hazardous materials safely, how to avoid complacency and stay focused on the job at hand, how the constraints that PPE places on bodies can lead to accidents, and why it is important to know the characteristics of the chemicals that workers will be dealing with.
The course uses a combination of audio, full-motion video, text, and colorful graphics. It is divided into logical sections so information is easily understood and retained. It is provided in partnership with MARCOM, a top-rated safety and compliance training content provider.
The course is approximately 45 to 60 minutes long, 100% online, self-paced, and accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
