Asbestos Awareness Course

eTraining’s Asbestos Awareness course is an online awareness-level training program designed for workers who may encounter asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in the workplace. The course teaches workers how to recognize, avoid, and report asbestos hazards in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926.1101 (Asbestos Standard for the Construction Industry). It is delivered through eTraining, an online safety training provider.

Training focuses on the health hazards associated with asbestos exposure, including asbestosis, mesothelioma, and lung cancer. The course covers what asbestos is and where it is commonly found, how to identify presumed asbestos-containing materials (PACM), OSHA’s classification of asbestos work (Class I through Class IV), permissible exposure limits (PELs), personal protective equipment requirements, and proper response procedures when ACM is encountered or disturbed.

The course is 100% online, fully self-paced, and accessible on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Note: eTraining also offers a more in-depth Asbestos Safety for the Competent Person course. A Spanish version of the Asbestos Awareness course is also available.
