OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens Certification

What Is eTraining’s Bloodborne Pathogens Training Course?

eTraining’s Bloodborne Pathogens Training course is an OSHA-compliant online training program developed from OSHA’s Bloodborne Pathogens standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030.

Bloodborne pathogens are infectious microorganisms present in human blood that can cause disease. Workers in many industries may be exposed through contact with blood or other potentially infectious materials (OPIM), including exposure risks related to HIV, Hepatitis B (HBV), Hepatitis C (HCV), and other bloodborne diseases.

This course is designed for employees whose job duties involve reasonably anticipated exposure to blood or OPIM. It provides the knowledge required to reduce occupational exposure and remain compliant with OSHA regulations in workplaces where these hazards exist.

The training covers key OSHA-required topics, including exposure control plans, universal precautions, engineering and work practice controls, personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling and disposal of sharps, post-exposure procedures, and the Hepatitis B vaccination program.

The course is delivered 100% online, fully narrated, and includes video, animation, interactivity, and testing to support retention. The total course length is approximately 90 minutes. Upon successful completion of the final exam with a score of 70% or higher, participants receive a personalized certificate of completion, printable immediately. OSHA requires bloodborne pathogens training to be completed annually.
