Electrocution Hazards Part I Worksite Safety

The first in a two-part series on electrocution hazards, MARCOM’s interactive course on Electrocution Hazards Part I: Worksite Safety discusses the electrical hazards that can be found on a job site, the OSHA standards that have been established to protect workers from them, and what employees should do to avoid accidents and injuries involving electricity.

Getting things done on a job site can require plenty of electrical energy, and it is easy to forget that electricity can cause painful shocks, burns, and even electrocution. Every year, electricity causes hundreds of deaths and thousands of injuries in the construction industry. These incidents could have been prevented.

Areas covered in the course include electrical hazards and OSHA standards, high voltage power lines, tools, extension cords and receptacles, grounding, continuity and GFCIs, lock-out/tag-out, and more.

The course uses a combination of audio, full-motion video, text, and colorful graphics. It is divided into a number of logical sections so information is easily understood and retained.
