Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging in Construction Environments

The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) in Construction Environments course is an interactive online training program provided by MARCOM that discusses the specific meanings and purposes behind diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging and how to practice each of them in the workplace.

The course provides information about different types of diversity, what an equitable workplace looks like, and how bias can impact the opportunities that employees have. Organizations are realizing the importance of diversity in the workplace and how employees with different experiences, backgrounds, and skills can come together to make a company more successful. If employees do not feel that their workplace has a supportive and respectful culture, they are much more likely to leave.

Areas covered in the course include what diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging each mean, why diversity is important in the workplace, the difference between conscious and unconscious bias, how to create an equitable work environment, and how inclusion and belonging factor into workplace productivity and morale. The course uses a combination of audio, full-motion video, text, and colorful graphics, divided into logical sections for easy understanding and retention. The course is 100% online, self-paced, and accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.
