Competent Person Forklift Safety Course

eTraining’s Forklift Training for the Competent Person course is an online training program that takes all of the information covered in the standard Forklift Safety Course and expands on it to include knowledge and training on the duties and responsibilities of the competent person working on job sites with forklift activities. The course is developed directly from OSHA standard 29 CFR 1910.178 for forklift safety.

OSHA requires that a competent person be a part of every job site. With this Forklift Competent Person Certification, you are helping your employer satisfy this requirement while making yourself a more valuable member of your team. The course provides comprehensive coverage of forklift operations, hazard recognition, inspection procedures, and supervisory responsibilities.

The course is 100% online, fully self-paced, and accessible on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices. For workers who need general forklift operator training without competent person responsibilities, eTraining also offers a Forklift Safety Training Course.

We also offer a Forklift Safety Training Course that is intended more for the general site worker and forklift operator than a competent person or supervisor.

Note: This course does not provide a license to operate a forklift, this would necessitate physical, hands-on instruction.  This course is designed to provide an understanding of forklift safety, based on the OSHA standard.
