Introduction to Stairways & Ladders

Introduction to Stairways & Ladders is an online course built on OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart X. It covers ladder types and duty ratings, safe setup and climbing, inspection and defects, stairway and stairrail rules, and the competent person’s duties.

• Tell portable, fixed, step, extension, trestle, job-made and individual rung ladders apart, and their limits.
• Set a ladder at the 4 to 1 angle, extend it 3 feet above the landing, secure it and climb with three points.
• Apply the stairway rules: landings, riser height, stairrails, handrails and the 20 inch door swing platform.
