Introduction to Stairways & Ladders

eTraining’s Introduction to Stairways & Ladders course is an online construction safety training program designed for workers who use stairways or ladders on construction job sites. The course teaches workers how to recognize stairway and ladder hazards and work safely on and around them in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Subpart X (Stairways and Ladders, Sections 1926.1050 through 1926.1060). It is delivered through eTraining, an online safety training provider.

Training covers the various types of ladders (stepladders, extension ladders, fixed ladders, portable ladders), ladder components and weight ratings, stairway safety requirements for construction sites, common ladder and stairway hazards, safe use and setup procedures, inspection and maintenance requirements, the role of the competent person in ladder and stairway safety, and OSHA training requirements under 29 CFR 1926.1060.

The course is 100% online, fully self-paced, and accessible on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.

Note: eTraining also offers a more advanced Ladder Safety Competent Person course for workers with supervisory responsibilities related to ladder safety.
