Ergonomics Training for the Office Worker
eTraining’s Ergonomics Training for the Office Worker is an online safety training program designed for employees who work in office environments. The course teaches workers how to identify ergonomic hazards, set up their workstations correctly, and adopt healthy work habits to prevent musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) in accordance with OSHA’s General Duty Clause (Section 5(a)(1) of the OSH Act) and OSHA ergonomics guidelines. It is delivered through eTraining, an online safety training provider.
Training focuses on the ergonomic risk factors common to office workers, including repetitive motions, sustained awkward postures, prolonged sitting, improper workstation setup, and insufficient breaks. The course covers proper workstation ergonomics (chair, desk, monitor, keyboard, and mouse positioning), the relationship between poor ergonomics and MSDs such as carpal tunnel syndrome and back pain, stretching and exercise techniques, and how to conduct a basic self-assessment of your workstation.
The course is 100% online, fully self-paced, and accessible on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
Note: eTraining also offers a separate Ergonomics Training for the Site Worker course for workers in industrial and construction environments.
