Hearing Protection Safety

eTraining’s Hearing Protection Safety course is an online safety training program designed for workers who are exposed to hazardous noise levels in the workplace. The course teaches workers how to understand the effects of noise on hearing, recognize hazardous noise levels, and select and use hearing protection devices properly in accordance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910.95 (Occupational Noise Exposure). It is delivered through eTraining, an online safety training provider.

Training focuses on how noise damages hearing, the decibel scale and permissible exposure limits (PEL of 90 dBA for an 8-hour time-weighted average), the action level (85 dBA TWA) that triggers a hearing conservation program, types of hearing protection devices (earplugs, earmuffs, canal caps), Noise Reduction Ratings (NRR), proper selection, fitting, use, and care of hearing protectors, and the elements of an employer’s hearing conservation program including audiometric testing.

The course is 100% online, fully self-paced, and accessible on desktop computers, laptops, tablets, and smartphones.
